2017 Unity Day Picnic at Harbour House/Eastport Terrace


It was a great day for food, music...and politicians! The 2017 Unity Day Picnic held on Saturday, August 26, at Harbour House/Eastport Terrace was a resounding success, judging from the approximately 150 attendees who feasted on hot dogs, fried chicken, baked macaroni, baked beans and salads. Political candidates joined in the festivities including: Gavin Buckley (D-Mayoral candidate), Rhonda P. Charles (D-Ward 3), Marc Rodriguez (D-Ward 5), DaJuan Gay (D-Ward 6), Shaneka Henson (D-Ward 6), Alexus Viegas (D-Ward 7), Ald. Ross Arnett (D-Ward 8). Ald.Kenny Kirby (D-Ward 6) was also present.

Action Annapolis hosted a table offering Voter Registration (English and Spanish), Absentee Ballot Applications, polling information and flyers announcing the upcoming Ward 6 Candidate Forum on September 14. Other organizations participating in Unity Day 2017 included: Anne Arundel County Department of Health, Anne Arundel County Mental Health System (Crisis Response System), Annapolis Family Support Center, Anne Arundel County Community Action Agency, Annapolis Police and Fire Departments and Maryland WIC. Unity Day is an annual event for the residents of Harbour House/Eastport Terrace (Ward 6) but draws participants from across Ward lines.
